When processing a document for signature, you can add text boxes, radio buttons, and checkboxes in addition to the standard signature controls. The following article outlines the additional options available for these controls, including if/then answer options for the client.
Control Descriptions
- The Text box option allows you to enter a tooltip for the client. The client can then enter free-form text into the box. This option can be incorporated into an if/then answer option.
- The Check Box option allows you to enter a tooltip for the client. The client can then choose to select the box or leave it blank if it is not marked as required. This option can be incorporated into an if/then question or answer option.
- The Radio allows you to select how many radio buttons to place at once. The client can select only one of these options. This option can be incorporated into an if/then question or answer option.
Placement
Text Box
- Select the appropriate signer.
- This recipient is prompted to fill the field.
- Drag/drop the control onto the page.
- Enter a Tool Tip for the client (optional).
- Uncheck Required to make the field not required for the recipient to fill out (will be marked as Required by default).
- Click Save.
- Click and hold the Move option to drag the control to another location.
- Click the bottom right corner to drag the box and make it larger.
- This will allow for more text to be entered on the client side.
- Character count limit is 150.
Check Box
- Select the appropriate signer.
- This recipient is prompted to fill the field.
- Drag/drop the control onto the page.
- Enter a Tool Tip for the client (optional).
- Uncheck Required to make the field not required for the recipient to fill out (will be marked as Required by default).
- Click and hold the Move option to drag the control to the correct location.
- Use the Options panel to customize the control (see sections below for more information).
Radio Button
- Select the appropriate signer.
- This recipient is prompted to fill the field.
- Drag/drop the control onto the page.
- Select how many radio buttons to add.
- Uncheck Required to make the field not required for the recipient to fill out (will be marked as Required by default).
- Click Add.
- Click and hold the Move option to drag the radio controls to correct location.
- Move the radio buttons within box.
- Click the bottom right corner to drag the box and make it larger.
- Use the Options panel to customize the control (see sections below for more information).
Settings
Adjust the properties selected during placement.
Check Box
- Click the Gear icon in the Options menu.
- Select whether or not the client is required to select the checkbox.
- Enter a Tool Tip for the client (optional).
Radio Button
- Click the Gear icon in the Options menu.
- Select whether or not the client is required to select a button.
- Click the Minus button to remove a radio button.
- Click the Add button to add a radio button.
Rules
The Rules options are the same for checkboxes and radio buttons. If the first condition is met, the selected field appears for the client during signing.
Please note:
The field(s) to be used for if/then rules must be placed before the Rules icon is selected.
- Click the Rules icon in the Options menu.
- Select which Option to apply the rule to (radio buttons only).
- Click Select Fields.
- Click the plus button on one of the existing fields on the form.
- This field will appear to the client if the previous condition is met.
- Click Done to save any changes made.
- Click the X button next to the field to remove it if needed.
Duplicate and Delete
Duplicate
- Click the Duplicate icon in the Options menu to duplicate that control.
Delete
- Click the Delete icon in the Options menu to remove that control.
